Quilts for Obama

Greetings All,

I have finally made my first Obama quilt titled Hope Change Vote! I have several friends that have been working on his campaign and they've given me flyers, signs, buttons, etc. I even did some volunteer work once making phone calls and data entry. It's a hard job and I admire them for their efforts. I check out Kyra Hicks blog "Black Threads" daily and she posted about another blogger, that I also love to read, Cherry Floyd-Miller who was talking about the making her of an Obama quilt.

There was also mention of a group that's called "Fiber Artists for Obama" and after reading about all of this it just stirred the desire in me to go ahead and do my own thing. The inspiration came to me by the way of a black/white printed flyer (left). I changed the colors (right) and got a very abstract piece that I like. I still have some fabrics left and I can feel another piece being created.

Greetings All,
This is my new blog and I still will be keeping updated on what's happening with the "Sew What Art Quilters". Gwen Boyd McGee has created her own blog at: "Quilting With Gwen" and Sherise Marie Wright one at: "The Soul of Quilting"
