Plum Goody Update

Greetings All,
Last summer I dyed a piece of vintage lace tablecloth with Rit Ambergine powder dye.  I fell in love with the color and yesterday I created a waterfall vest out of this gorgeous piece and had to share it.

Libration Color Collection - jacket.

Greeting All,
Here is another creation from my "Libration Color" collection.  This is a waterfall jacket created with Kona cottons created from log cabin blocks with slash pocket.  In the center of each block is an Adinkra symbol the focus on the principles of Kwanzaa.

Plum Goody Vest

Greetings All,
Here is a spinoff from my "Plum Goody" jacket, a waterfall vest.  This was  created with my hand dyed cotton, batiks, African  wax print, and quilters cottons.  I love the colors and I love the drape and just had to share.

Dreaming Bigger in Strange Times via WMG

Greetings All,

Woman Made Gallery (WMG) is proud to present ‘Dreaming Bigger in Strange Times,’ opening on November 11th and running through December 16. The final exhibition during WMG’s 25th Anniversary year, it is the second exhibition at WMG’s new location in Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood. Juried by Chicago artist and curator, Joyce Owens, the exhibition includes works by 17 artists from diverse backgrounds and working in a variety of styles and media.

My piece "Seekers" (below) will be included in this exhibit along with several of my soft sculptures.  Seekers are the ones that are on the outlook for the truth at any cost.  It is their duty to enlighten and encourage.

ASWR final exhibit.

Greetings All,
This week will be the opening of "And Still We Rise" Oct 6 - Dec 30, 2017 at the Columbus Museum, Columbus, GA.  This would not have been possible without the hard work and determination of Dr. Carolyn Mazloomi a "Shero" of the culture.  I am grateful to be included and to be a member of WCQN.  This has been an amazing journey.
