Flour Resist Paste a new journey.
Greetings All,
Yesterday I decide to try four paste resist for the 1st time on a piece of cotton that I had dyed a while back that I didn't like. This is the results after dying for 24 hours and the next step is to apply fabric paint. Here is my piece before paint.

Here is a link to the video that I used and the overall inspiration came from time spent with fiber artist Angie Knowles of Art Quilt Textiles.

Opening Reception ~ March 29, 2017 / 3:30-5:00 pm / AACC
On Beauty showcases quilting works by Chicago area artists and AACC's Community Remedy Quilt made by UIC students, faculty, staff, and community partners. Inspired by African-American quilting traditions and communities, this exhibit adapts the Center's "Year of Remedies" programmatic theme into textural forms that symbolize resilience, healing, creativity and countless other expressions of what it might mean to remedy past and present injustices.

Greetings All,
Here's an update on "Ubuntutu" the exhibition has been extended. The show will now go to the Potchefstroom Museum in Potchefstroom, South Africa, and end at Art Scape (the venue where the Desmond Tutu Annual Peace Lecture will be held in Cape Town, South Africa in October). What a blessing to be included. — in Potchefstroom.

The Good Old Days - collages.
Greetings All,
Here are two more of my collage works and these are title "The Good Old Days". Again I am weaving paper and fabric and loving my results. These are 12 x 12 inch squares with embellishment of pennies and buttons.

Seekers
Greetings All,
Here is another piece from the "Hand Works" studio. This piece is titled "Seekers" and it's constructed of my hand dyed vintage damask linen. It was also screen printed and machine quilted. Love the etherial affect of the three figures of fiberglass screen. It will make it debut at the 20th Cultural Connection.
