Artistry In Fiber
Greetings All,
Here is another self promotional moment. Artistry in Fiber, Vol. 1 Wall Art is due out in June 2017 and I am one of many to be included by E. Ashley Rooney.
"Connecting us to the wide variety of contemporary fiber art in wall-mounted format, this resource combines more than 600 photos with personal comments from 100 of today’s established and emerging artists. In conjunction with the other two books in this acclaimed series, it invites readers to re-examine fiber art through a multifaceted contemporary lens The creators here are pushing the boundaries of what wall-mounted fiber art is, using fibers of paper, metal, fiberglass, milkweed seeds, or high-tech polymers".
Artistry in Fiber, Sculpture is due out Aug 2017
Nearly 500 photos ofartwork with personal insights from 76 of today’s most noteworthyartists show the tremendously broad range of possibilities that working in three dimensions can offer. In conjunction with the other two books in this acclaimedseries, it invites readers to re-examine fiber art through a multifaceted contemporarylens. Both established artists and emerging artists whose work isattracting notice are gathered here. Carol Milne’s knitted glass and Peter Gentenaar’s technique of vacuum forming and air-drying paper fibers are but a few examples of artists using new materials with traditional methods.
You can pre order for those fiber conscious gift offerings via Amazon.
